Are You the Last one?

Inspired by Abba Father

Penned by Beth R Auman

10/21/2010

A little boy went on a journey seeking the Last one. He was young and full of energy. He asked every person that he met, Are you the Last one?

People looked at him in ways that were not kind sometimes. Many dismissed him entirely. Some asked him the question "The last one? What?"

He got so very excited at that point because he just knew that they might be the Last one. Even if they were not the Last one, they would be one more closer to the Last one, he thought to himself.

Many listened to what he had to say and some even accepted the "Good News."

His journey took him to faraway where he learned new and exciting languages so that he could ask people who lived in those faraway lands in their own language if they were the Last one.

He learned 52 different languages; he went to hot lands, high lands, low lands and cold lands. No matter where he was or how he felt, he always went out every day to ask someone if they were the Last one.

He grew to be a full grown man and one day he saw a girl who was in a big city. She was across a busy street and their eyes met. He crossed the street to meet her and as he opened his mouth to ask her, she opened her mouth to ask him and at the very same time they asked one another "Are you the Last one?"

They both stood back for a moment, quite surprised, they were blushing and their hearts just knew that they were to go on the remainder of this journey together.  They were married and they traveled together to the hot lands, and low lands, cold lands and high lands. Together, always asking those whom they met, Are you the Last one?

They met so many people on their journey. They went too far away lands and learned new and exciting languages. In some of these lands hundreds of people came to hear the Good News that they heard. In some lands there were ten, twenty or thirty and in some lands only one. But they knew that even one was closer to the Last one, so they kept on going along, asking the question to everyone that they met. Are you the Last one?

When this little boy had become a very old man, he sat down one day to tell his Grandson about the journey. This little boy sat on his Grandfather's lap. He was all snuggled in for a very special story time. Grandpa said, when I was a young boy I began a journey and my journey is about to be complete and you have a choice to make today, to continue my journey.

What is this journey all about Grandpa, the little boy asked?

Oh, just the most wonderful journey that anyone could ever go on. See, when I was just your age, my Grandpa sat me on his lap and I chose to continue his journey.  The journey to find the "Last one". Grandson, I must ask you this one question, are you the Last one?

The Last one what Papa?  Why the Last one to receive the Good News of course.

What Good News Papa?  His Grandpa said, I'm so very glad that you asked me that question.  You see the Bible says:

Matthew 24:12-14 (Amplified Bible)

12And the love of [a]the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity,

13But he who endures to the end will be saved.

14And this good news of the kingdom (the Gospel) will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end.

The Gospel, the Good News must be preached to the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end. You see, the whole world is full of people and the testimony of Jesus Christ must be shared with every single person and then Jesus will return.

My journey has been to find the Last one. I myself do not know who the Last one is, but Abba Father does.  When the Last one receives the Good News of Jesus Christ - then He will return. Everywhere I go and every person that I meet, I ask them if they are the Last one... Sometimes people won't hear what I have to say, but they have been given the opportunity to hear. Some people listen and do not receive and some receive the Good News immediately.  Each one that has had the opportunity to receive the Good News.

The most important thing is that the Good News of Jesus Christ is told to every creature. This is the journey.

·  Revelation 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Grandson, do you want to continue my journey?  Will you go throughout the earth and ask everyone that you meet if they are the Last one? Will you receive the Good News of Jesus Christ?

Oh, yes Grandpa. I do want to carry on your journey! I love Jesus and I may not be the Last one but I'll do my best to find the Last one, Papa!! I'll go wherever the Lord sends me and ask everyone that I meet.

Are you the Last one? Will you receive the Good News? John 3:16 (New International Version)

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
